On September 11, 2019, Mr. Halilu Ahmad Shaba, Director, Strategic Space Applications Department of National Space Research and Development Agency of Nigeria (NASRDA) and Dr. Godstime James, Deputy Director, Strategic Space Applications Department of NASRDA, visited the Centre. Mr. Weng Jingnong, Executive Director of the Centre and Dean of International School, Beihang University, warmly received the guests.

Mr. Weng Jingnong expressed a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the overall situation of the Centre in terms of personnel training, scientific research, international cooperation, etc., and looked forward to further cooperation and resource exchanges with Nigeria. The representatives from Nigeria expressed their gratitude for the warm reception of the Centre, briefly introduced the development and teaching situation of NASRDA in the field of space, and hoped to jointly carry out education and training in the fields of satellite communication, satellite navigation and micro-satellite technology with the Centre. They expressed their full expectation for the future cooperation and development. During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on short-term training, BeiDou station building and other issues. Professor Yang dongkai, Senior Expert in the field of GNSS of the Center, attended the meeting.

National Space Research and Development Agency of Nigeria (NASRDA) is an Agency under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology for the Republic of Nigeria and is tasked with the implementation of the Nation’s Space Policy and Programs. The agency was established on May 5, 1999, with the goal of promoting the development of national socio-economic interests and the application of space science and technology.
