On July 20, 2019, “New Space · Smart Future – 2019 BeiDou Application Seminar” hosted by BeiDou (Jining) Open Laboratory was successfully held in High-tech Zone of Jining. Mr. Weng Jingnong, Executive Director of the Centre and Dean of International School, Beihang University, was invited to attend it. This seminar focused on the new ideas and new achievements of BeiDou system in the application of smart city. It is hoped to jointly promote the development of BeiDou smart city application, and make urban life more convenient and comfortable.

At the meeting, Mr. Weng Jingnong said that with the steady development of global networking and application of BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, BeiDou precision service has been widely used in the construction of smart cities. BeiDou International Exchange and Training Center and Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (China) (Affiliated to the United Naitons) make contribution to the construction and development of BeiDou system in the aspect of education. We hope to continue to expand international communication channels and cooperate with universities and research institutions at home and abroad to make China's BeiDou become the world's BeiDou.
