From August 19 to 23, 2019, Ms. Cui Yizhuo and Ms. Yang Fan, representatives of the Centre, were invited to visit Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Western Asia (RCSSTEWA). They discussed with the representatives from RCSSTEWA on teacher/student exchanges, joint short-term training programs, and educational resource sharing, and reached preliminary cooperation intentions. Mr. Awni Kasawneh, Director of RCSSTEWA, thanked RCSSTEAP for its support to RCSSTEWA and hoped to further strengthen cooperation to make contribution to “Programme on Space Applications” promoted by UNOOSA.

During the visit, the representatives of the Centre were also invited to attend the opening ceremony for the new building of RCSSTEWA and set a booth at the exhibition on aerospace achievements. They shared the educational concepts and international achievements of the Centre with more than one hundred (100) representatives from all over the world.

Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Western Asia (RCSSTEWA) was inaugurated on May 29, 2012 at the Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre (RJGC) in Amman, Jordan. It assists Member States in enhancing indigenous capabilities in different areas of space science and technology that have the potential to advance social and economic development. It provides in-depth education, research and application programmes with an initial emphasis on space-based remote sensing, satellite communications, satellite meteorology and space sciences.
