On April 24th, 2016, the first celebration of “Space Day of China” ceremony was held in Sunrise Concert Hall at Beihang University, the theme being “Chinese  Dream, Space Dream”. It was jointly organized by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, PRC, and China National Space Administration.

Mr. Ma Kai, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier, Mr. Xu Kuangdi, Vice Chairman of the 10th CPPCC national committee, Mr. Miao Wei, Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Mr. Xu Dazhe, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Director of State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, PRC and Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA), Mr. Zhangjun, Party Secretary of Beihang University, Mr. Xu Huibin, the President of Beihang University attended the celebration ceremony. students of the Centre were invited to attend. The celebration ceremony was hosted by Mr. Xu Dazhe, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Director of State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, PRC and Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA). Vice Premier Mr. Ma Kai read the important instruction of the first “Space Day of China” proposed by General Secretary Mr. Xi Jinping and Premier Mr. Li Keqiang, and then he delivered a speech. Mr. Sun Jiadong, an Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Hu Hao, Chief Designer of the third China's lunar orbiter project, and Ms. Qi Yaqun, a student of Beihang University gave speeches respectively.

After the ceremony, the students of the Centre visited the exhibition held in Air & Space Museum and Gymnasium at Beihang University. And they then visited Beijing Aerospace TITAN Technology Co., LTD. in the afternoon.

Mr. Ni Jinsheng, the General Manager of Beijing Aerospace TITAN Technology Co., LTD. extended a warm welcome to the students and led the students’ visit of Global Spatial Data Services to get a comprehensive understanding of TITAN products of aerospace remote sensing as well as the achievements in satellite data services, spatial data cloud services, industry-specific services and international cooperation. The students expressed their thanks and said that it was a meaningful visit and they benefited a lot.
