With the international students returning to campus gradually, the Centre organized thesis proposal and mid-term assessment for MASTA participants in batches in late March according to the schedule.
Seventeen (17) participants from three (3) directions, namely Satellite Communication and Global Navigation Satellite Systems, Remote Sensing and GIS, and Space Science and Environment, participated in the thesis proposal / mid-term assessment. Eleven (11) professors from five (5) training schools of Beihang University carefully reviewed the participants’ thesis proposals and mid-term reports and participated in the defense meeting.
The thesis proposal and mid-term assessment were conducted in a combination of online and offline ways. Professors and participants on the two campuses attended the on-site defense in the smart classroom of Xueyuan Road Campus and the seminar room of Shahe Campus respectively, and the participants who had not yet returned to China attended the defense online through VooV Meeting. The participants reported on the progress of their thesis research, and their supervisors made pertinent comments and suggestions to help them further advance and improve their theses.
Through the thesis proposal and mid-term assessment, the Centre has a more comprehensive understanding of the progress of the participants, and will subsequently continue to advance its work in order to assist the participants in successfully completing their studies.
