On May 24, 2019, the President of the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), Colonel Engineer Carlos Augusto Teixeira de Moura visited the Centre. Ms. Jiang Hui, Division Director of Department of International Cooperation, CNSA, Prof. Weng Jingnong, Executive Director of the Centre and Dean of International School, Beihang University warmly welcomed the guest.

On behalf of the Beihang University and the Centre, Mr. Weng Jingnong first extended a warm welcome to Mr. Carlos’s visit. He briefly introduced the overall situation of Beihang in terms of personnel training, scientific research and global cooperation, and reviewed Center’s talent training and achievements in international cooperation with AEB since its establishment. At the end, hoped more Brazilian students will come to China for studying.

Mr. Carlos thanked the Centre for cultivating many outstanding aerospace talents for Brazil. He said that last year was the Brazil-China Space Cooperation 30th Anniversary. He is very pleased that China-Pakistan cooperation has achieved great results and has successfully launched four (4) China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellites. The AEB attaches great importance to its partnership with Beihang University and hopes to continue the cooperation with the Centre in future, enrich the cooperation and achieve win-win development.

After that, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on international education cooperation. Mr. Weng Jingnong said that Brazil as a Member State of the Centre, has made positive contributions to its development. He also sincerely invites Mr. Carlos to participate in the Meeting of the Governing Board of the Centre and the fifth anniversary of the Centre in the second half of this year, which accepted by Mr. Carlos with pleasure.

After the meeting, Mr. Carlos exchanged views with Brazilian students who studying for a Master's degree at the Centre to learn more about their study and life, he encouraged them to cherish time and devote themselves to research to inject new vitality into the space construction of China and Brazil in the future.



In addition, Mr. Carlos also visited the Aerospace Museum, and laboratories for small-satellite ground monitoring and control center, Remote Sensing and GIS teaching; Plus facilities such as distance learning and video conference room, STA library, classrooms, Newsletter and publication display window, etc.

Currently, the AEB has recommended ten (10) postgraduates to the Centre, six (6) are currently studying and four (4) of them have been graduated.
