The Centre, focusing on talent cultivation, has been
effectively promoting space education since its establishment. Emphasizing on
assessment in accordance with standards, strict thesis proposal and defense
with individualized teaching are carried out at the Centre. Before this winter
vacation, the Centre gave the participants two assignments: Academic Progress
Report and Survey Report. It is hoped that the students would summarize on what
they learnt, have plans for their study and do more practice in academic
research.
At the
beginning of the new semester, the Centre received seventy (70) academic
progress reports and sixty-eight (68) survey reports. Some participants thought
their reports still needs improvements, and would submit the reports later.
From March to April,
the Centre compiled the participants’ reports into a book called Research
Report of Developing Countries’ Space Technology Applications, which gave a detailed
introduction of space technology applications situation of fifteen (15)
countries, including Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran,
Laos, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and
Venezuela. It involves Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Remote Sensing and Geographic
Information System (RS&GIS), Satellite Communication, Micro-satellite
Technology and many other aspects, which has a great significance on the research
of current situation, demands and prospects of developing countries in the
field of space technology application.
