The Eleventh Meeting of the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems(ICG) was held in Sochi, Russia from November 6th to 11th. Mr. Yang Dongkai, senior GNSS expert of the Centre, professor of School of Electronic and Information Engineering, Beihang University and Ms. Guo Yuanyuan, Project Director of the Centre attended the conference on behalf of RCSSTEAP as members of the Working Group on Information Dissemination and Capacity-building (Working Group C).

    Representatives of the Centre and other representatives from the United States, Russia, Italy, European Space Agency exchanged ideas and shared experience and achievements of education and training as well as capacity building on GNSS. Ms. Guo Yuanyuan, on behalf of the Centre, gave a report on GNSS Education and Training Progress in 2016, which reviewed the achievements of education and training, capacity-building, international exchanges and the like in GNSS at the Centre. Ms. Shafa Gadimova from ICG Secretariat and other representatives spoke highly of RCSSTEAP’s contributions.

    During the meeting, representatives of RCSSTEAP also made an in-depth communication with Professor Andrey Kupriyanov from Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography and reached consensuses on cooperation between universities and joint organization of GNSS training courses.
