From June 25 to 29, 2023, more than thirty (30) participants of the Centre, led by their assistant teachers, were invited to attend the “6th International Workshop on GIS Technology and Application” held by Beijing SuperMap Software Co., Ltd. (“SuperMap” for short), Partner of the Centre, and 2023 Geospatial Information Software Technology Conference.
In the morning of June 25, Mr. Ma Zhiyong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography, delivered an opening speech and warmly welcomed the participants of the Centre.
The workshop covered the frontier technology fields such as spatial information fusion, 3D-GIS, smart city, digital twin, etc. The expert team in the workshop was consisted of professionals and scholars from the frontline at home and abroad.
The participants of the Centre showed great interest in the training courses, and through various case studies and in-depth interactive exchanges, they broadened their technical vision and improved their software application capabilities. The workshop also provided the participants with rich and diverse opportunities for lectures and seminars. During this time, they actively participated in technical presentations, case sharing and innovation demonstrations, sharing their research results and practical experiences in GIS technology and applications.
On June 27 and 28, the participants of the Centre were invited to attend the 2023 Geospatial Information Software Technology Conference (GISTC2023). With the theme of “Geospatial Intelligence, Elevated by Integration”, the conference set up a lot of sessions, including the main forum, international frontier technology forum, software technology forum, BIM+GIS application forum, water resources digital twin forum, etc., which attracted the participation of professionals and technical experts in the field of geographic information from all over the world. It provided valuable opportunities for the participants to share the latest technology and application experience with colleagues in the industry and broadened their horizons.
In the morning of June 29, Mr. Ma Zhiyong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography, delivered the training summary and awarded the completion certificates and commemorative gifts to the participants. After that, the participants took a group photo with the workshop teachers.
The successful holding of the workshop and the conference provided a valuable learning and practice chance as well as a showcase platform for the participants. They all expressed that the training not only enhanced their professional knowledge, but also helped to inspire their later studies and research projects.
