On the occasion of the annual Mid-Autumn Festival, the Centre held a Mid-Autumn Festival themed tea party on the afternoon of September 28, 2023, to let the participants better understand the origins and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and further perceive the traditional Chinese culture.
The coordinator of the Centre first introduced the origins and customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival, leading the participants to learn about its beautiful legends, which made them listened with great interest. The poems of the ancients who chanted about the moon thousands of years ago were presented in English, conveying emotions and charms beyond language.
In the exchange and sharing session, representatives from five (5) countries, including Iran, Jordan, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Peru, introduced the history, geography, festivals and costumes of their countries. The participants were impressed by the traditional Jordanian cuisine.
This thematic activity not only enabled the participants to learn about the history and customs of traditional Chinese festivals, but also vividly demonstrated the diversity and differences of cultures around the world through the exchanges and sharing of the participants. In the future, the Centre will continue to carry out a series of thematic activities on traditional festivals to provide participants with more opportunities for learning, communication and perception.
