On the morning of September 11, the new participants of 2023 gathered in the Centre’s classroom to start the first lesion of this new semester. They first watched the promotional video of the Centre, and had a more intuitive understanding of the development, construction, education and training, and featured activities of the Centre. Then, everyone introduced themselves, further bringing them closer together.

Prof. Weng Jingnong, Executive Director of the Centre, welcomed the new participants and encouraged them to take up the responsibility and mission of promoting space technology and to act as bridges and emissaries for exchanges between the Centre and other countries. Ms. Guo Yuanyuan, Program Manager of the Centre, introduced the relevant teaching arrangements to the participants, explained the content of course selection and training and answered relevant questions. In addition, the coordinator Ms. Tang Qian further clarified the class management system, and replied to the concerns related to the application for residence permit, medical insurance, etc.

To help the new participants adapt to the campus life, Ubaid Akbar, representative of the current participants of the Centre, introduced his study and life experience during the past year, discussed with the new participants on issues they cared about such as going out and online payment, and led the new participants on a campus tour.

In the afternoon, guided by Mr. Jin Tian, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Department of Beihang University, the participants visited the modern teaching environment of the Main Building on Xueyuan Road Campus, and further understood its history and experienced the use of the smart screen to check the classroom lecture schedules, make reservations for the seminar rooms, and other convenient functions.

At last, the participants visited the History Museum of Beihang University and Air and Space Museum to visit, and learned more about Beihang University.
