At the invitation of the Centre, Associate Professor Wang Cheng from Research Institute for Frontier Science of Beihang University will give a lecture on the Frontiers of Space Technology Applications on June 2nd.
This lecture series is open to participants from the Centre, and interested students and faculty from both on and off campus are also welcome to attend.

Wang Cheng is an Associate Professor who specializes in GNSS ionospheric modeling and space weather research. He has been involved in various research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Key Research and Development Program. Wang Cheng is a member of the Youth Working Committee of the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association and a visiting scholar at the Beijing Space Environment National Field Science Observation Station.
He has developed an automated operational service system for the GNSS Global Ionospheric Modeling. He proposed the Ionospheric Climate Index (ICI) and released ionospheric climate forecasts. Wang Cheng also developed a simple and efficient ionospheric broadcast model (SWIM) suitable for mass satellite navigation and positioning. He has published over 50 academic papers and holds six authorized invention patents.
