On October 13, 2019, Ms. Mazlan Othman, Malaysian astrophysicist, academician of the Malaysian Academy of Sciences, Fulbright Scholar of the Institute of Space Law of the George Washington University (GWU), and former Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA)，visited the Centre. Mr. Weng Jingnong, Executive Director of the Centre and Dean of International School, Beihang University, Ms. Wang Xin, Brand Director of the Centre, and Mr. Wang Xinsheng, expert of the micro-satellite technology, warmly welcomed the guests.

On behalf of the Centre, Mr. Weng Jingnong expressed warm welcome to Ms. Mazlan Othman and briefly introduced the progress made by the Centre in personnel training, scientific research cooperation, international exchange and capacity building in the past five (5) years. Ms. Mazlan Othman said that she was very pleased to see the rapid development of the Centre, from the application to the establishment, to the fruitful achievements, it has become a model of the Regional Centres, affiliated to the United Nations, in just five (5) years. At the same time, she would like to thank the Centre for its contributions to space technology education and promotion over the years, and hoped that more excellent talents would enter the world from here in the future.
