In order to further enhance the communication between teachers and participants, help new participants better understand Beihang University and the Centre, get into the study state faster, and adapt to the arrangements of online teaching management, the Centre held the first online class meeting for new participants in 2022 on the afternoon of September 13th.
At the beginning of the class meeting, the new participants had an online face-to-face communication and self-introduction to get to know each other preliminarily. After that, they listened to the introduction about the Centre and watched the promotional video together to have a deeper understanding of the Centre and Programme on Space Applications.
Ms. Guo Yuanyuan, Program Director of the Centre, explained to the participants about matters related to the teaching arrangement. She reminded the new participants to save and carefully read the training programme and other important documents, and answered their concerns about course selection and supervisors patiently and carefully.
Ms. Tang Qian, Coordinator of the Centre, emphasized the management requirements of the current online learning period, telling the new participants to pay attention to the WeChat group and Email messages. In addition, she also answered the participants’ questions about returning to campus and visa application, and introduced the Centre’s official website and WeChat account, so as to make it easier for the participants to access the news of the Centre.
At the end of the class meeting, Mr. Weng Jingnong, Executive Director of the Centre and Dean of International School of Beihang University, expressed his warm welcome to all the new participants. He said that it was very hard for this year’s applicants to pass the strict examination and selection to become a member of Beihang University during the special period for prevention and control of COVID-19. He expressed his full affirmation and congratulations to them and hoped that they would continue to work hard in their online study time. It is believed that with the improvement of the epidemic situation, we will soon be able to meet with the participants on campus.
This class meeting gave the new participants a deeper understanding of the upcoming study life, and felt the nurturing atmosphere of the Centre and the care and expectation of the teachers. We look forward to the new participants adapting to the next days and integrating into the Centre as soon as possible.
