On the arrival of the 8th Space Day of China, the 2023 China Space Conference was held in Hefei, Anhui Province, from April 23 to 26. With the theme of “Investigate Things to Extend Knowledge in Exploration of the Firmament”, the conference relied on four major activity systems of academia, industry, science popularization and culture creation, and set up more than thirty (30) sub-sessions, including the main session, international session, academic session, industrial session, cultural session, youth session and popular science education session, gathering famous experts, scholars and managers in the field of spaceflight at home and abroad. They discussed the new pattern of space development in depth, comprehensively demonstrated the frontier space technology, and widely promoted the deep cooperation of world space.
At the invitation of the Chinese Society of Astronautics, one of the partners of the Centre, participant representatives attended the main session and international forums, such as the Space High-end Dialogue Series, of the Space Conference under the leadership of faculty members. Through the keynote speeches of experts and scholars from home and abroad, participants learned about current scientific issues and technical problems in the space field, and gained more insights into hot areas such as deep space exploration, manned spaceflight, satellite network, and commercial spaceflight.
In addition, the participants actively engaged in the thematic exhibition activities and had a close encounter with the brilliant achievements of China’s space industry by watching videos, graphics, models and conducting interactive experiences. Meanwhile, the participants positively exchanged information with representatives of the booths, both to obtain more knowledge about China’s space enterprises and to promote the Centre to a wider group of people.
The event opened up the horizons of the participants and impressed them deeply. So, they actively shared their insights and feelings:
A lot of experts in this field all around the world were invited to be the guest speakers. The main focus was about the development of space industry of China. Besides, many topics were about the past, current, and future mission and goal for space sectors in China in several fields such as deep exploration, environment, education, law, technology, etc.

The most interesting topic for me was the discussion of the International Society to promote the moon agreement and space resources exploitation. Several times I wondered why scientists considered the lunar as an area to be exploited. In this conference, I found several reasons. Yes, because Lunar has several resources such as location, environment, minerals, and energy.
